Short Blog 3 — Breathing by the beachside

A few bikes on a chill beach sunset.

Crescent Beach is a lot lesser known than White Rock, but its rocky beachside walks allow for an intimate setting between weather and wildlife.

In sunny afternoons, you can just barely make out the city skyline, less than an hour’s drive away, but in the moment, there’s nothing besides the wind and tide. While I’m usually the only cyclist there, another family was having their own frosty adventure.

Here’s something I wrote during the workshop with Poet Ronna Bloom that I thought fit well:

A blessing for your head

May you get the rest you need, thoughts lifted from your burdened shelves.

May you be blessed with clarity like a midsummer’s day, where the clouds soar beyond the ocean horizon, and thoughts roll in, gentle waves on your consciousness.

May you rest, for the times that you cannot.

Hope you have a wonderful and restful reading week :)
